So, it’s 4 am and I just woke up from a terrible headache… Figured I’d write a little since there’s no way on earth I’ll be able to sleep in the next thirty. The high tea party themed baby shower was exactly what I hoped it would be. The food was amazing, the decor turned out just as we envisioned and the guests were happy, I hope lol. In true London style, the rain did join us but we had the tents up and nobody was hurt lol. It feels like so much planning and prep went into this and now it’s over!! My sister loved everything so much and kept thanking me … It got to a point where I told her she didn’t need to say it so many times haha she is such a great person and I am both blessed and happy that I had the honour of being part of something so beautiful, for someone so beautiful. Our caterers were a local company in Toronto called “The Food Dudes” and the food dudes they were. I not only loved them but would recommend to anyone who is looking for the best of the best. They helped a whole ton with bringing the vision together and their staff was on point with all the detailing. The food was above and beyond what I had expected it to be! The reviews are true, every dish looks visually amazing and tastes even better. We had another local company, Fascination Flowers do all the flowers (obviously lol) and they did such a beautiful job. Our centre pieces were so gorgeous and every person who spoke to me expressed how well they were done. Not knowing what the gender is was both a good and bad thing. Good because it allowed us to stick to neutral colours and bad because everyone loves a splash of colour but if we went too girly or too boyish people may have thought we were giving them a sign. We had Marietta from Enticing Icing (http://www.enticingicingscakery.com) create the cake which looked so so so gorgeous and tasted like heaven melting in your mouth (or so I think) haha. For the past little while, Marietta has been designing and creating our cakes for us for birthdays and special events and she always delivers higher than our expectations (she has set the bar really high) lol. We went with a great friend of mine, Bryan and his buddy Ollie for the bartenders and they made the best drinks! I won’t lie, I don’t like the taste of alcohol so when I drink I usually have a vodka water with lemon just to get a little buzz (by little, I mean a lot) but Bryan and Ollie made the most delicious blends of cocktails and Ica teas (to match the tea party theme, duh) and I am so thankful and happy that they were there to make everyone happy (with a personality drink or two lol). They were wonderful and helpful to the ladies who aren’t as outgoing (or too outgoing some might say) as myself. I wish that I could throw a baby shower everyday but I simply cannot force a baby on anyone so I guess I will have to wait until the next person who is dear to me is with child.
