Hello everyone,
It’s 3 am and as usual I just woke up from my sleep haha so I thought I’d do a little writing about an event I attended on Thursday night. My friend Sara is the executive director for a beautiful charity called the Dream Catcher Foundation. Before I get to the gala I’d like to show you a little about what they do. I took this screen shot from their website
As you can read, they have changed the lives of many. I am very proud to say that the foundation celebrated a successful ten years this year. I am also proud to say that I have been fortunate enough to attend every gala to date with my family and friends.
Sara did such a wonderful job putting everything together, the night was both beautiful and very fun. Like any major event, there was a red carpet to greet all the guests and guests of honour which added a little more glam to the night.
The night started off with h’orderves and cocktails with a Cirque reception.
Afterwards, we were all welcomed upstairs for a very tasty dinner and speeches for all the hard working people who are apart of their generous team. I can’t tell you enough how delicious the meal was! It’s a real bummer that I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of it (the fear of being judged by the people at my table haha). The hall looked incredible and you could tell every detail was thought out to perfection. Here is a couple of photos before the night started.
There was a wall that was filled with plaques that honoured all the families who were at one point or another part of DCF which was nice to look at and learn about.
The guests of honour were all gracious and took photos with anyone who asked.
In the past years some of the celebrities who attended were Steven Seagal, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Don Cherry, Wendel Clark, Doug Gilmour and many more. This year the show included some very familiar faces with the real show stopper being Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. Other celebrities included Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, Grammy award winner Tia Carrere, Elmmaneaul Lewis, George Starke, Trailer Park boys and John Harrington. It is great how many people support such a great cause!
Here are some photos I found on Instagram of the celebrities who attended.
Here are photos of my friends and family who looked like the real celebrities. Starting with the lady of the night, Sara Awdish in a beautiful Michael Costello gown.
Here I am taking a selfie because I really enjoyed my makeup haha
And last but certainly not least, the gorgeous people of the night.
A great evening it was, I look forward to doing it all again next year ! xx
