Crock pot chili

This morning I decided to finally make use of the crock pot that my friend Bryan gifted me last year for my birthday (yes, it only took me 10 months haha) and I’m really happy with the results. I have never used one before but my friend invited me over for dinner lastnight and the very delicious cashew chicken she served me was made in the crock pot so I felt inspired! I really wanted all that goodness and flavour but to also cut my calorie intake by a little. I decided to use ground turkey instead of ground beef. I found this recipe online and made little adjustments that I felt were necessary for not only my taste buds but also my health.


For one reason or another my chili came out a little too wet but I think Its probably because I should have added a little tomato paste to thicken it. Anyway, I skipped on the corn, black beans and red/yellow peppers because I’m not a fan. I topped my chili with 1 tbsp of low fat Greek yogurt, 1/6 of an avocado, diced fresh chili peppers, a little sriracha hot sauce and a sprinkle of 40% less fat cheddar cheese. I know I sound insane with all those “low fat” ingredients but it puts my mind at ease. I got home from spinning and didn’t want to waste that hard work by all the extra fats!

Anyway, I’ll probably be posting a lot more of my crock pot meals because I have a new obsession and I think this one is a lot healthier than my Kardashian one (I’m the worst) hahaha. Anyway, I have some work to do so I should get to it.
