So I think I may be having a quarter life crisis haha. I have this urge to go to school to become a realtor. I haven’t looked too much into it but I know it’s not too long of a course. I have had so many people tell me I’d make a great realtor that it’s instilled in my mind now haha. I am an inpulse kind of person and I actually am thinking about enrolling for the next start date available. I also want to get my license somewhere I’d love to live. Could this be my chance to finally make that move to LA that I’ve been waiting for?! I’m currently in sales and advertising which I actually love but I feel like this would be a good change and If I don’t like it I can always go back to what I know.
Does anyone have any personal experience with being a real estate agent? Would love some feedback.
Both of my parents were in real estate. They sold both new and used homes during the best and worst times. It can be a very lucrative endeavor, but you’d have to check the markets where you would like to sell. Also, the state laws for selling in one state are usually different for another so taking a class where you live right now might not help that much in LA. I’m not sure but if this is something you are really considering an internet search might be in order. Good Luck. I’m sure you would be very good at this and every one that I’ve known that has done this really did enjoy it.
Thank you so much for the feedback! I have done a little researching because it’s something I’ve considered at for a little while now. I just need to figure out if I can go to school in LA for it (I’m Canadian so sometimes the restrictions are rough). I have heard great things about it and there are so many success stories. Last year my sister and her husband were showing their house and their realtor was away for a wedding so they asked me to show it. The couple swore up and down that they would have never guessed that I didn’t do it for a living. They even said that they’d give me credit and encouraged me to look into it hahaha ever since then, my urge has been even stronger. Thanks again!
If you are having that (.25 crisis) then I am having a 2.25 or something kind of nexus/crisis/need a new car. lol
Hahaha get the new car!
A neeeeeeeeeeeeeeew car!!! game show host…lol
Make it a red, two-seater convertible. lol
Yeah i hear ya!
Have you gone through any career counseling to see if you have the personality “fit” for this? I’m not saying that you don’t… just asking. A guy who I recently met here in Florida moved from Chicago about a year ago. Apparently he was very successful in Chicago but he is a total bust here. He just can’t (won’t) get motivated to take that first step. I was the assistant to an agent in St. Petersburg, FL and LOVED it but would never be good at it myself. If you’re willing to work REALLY hard and odd hours then you have the biggest part of the battle behind you. I would definitely look into the citizenship part of this, too. Real estate can be pretty tricky. Like (there’s your word from this morning!) I could unlock the doors to a property and hand the prospective buyer the MLS information but I couldn’t “show” the property. I couldn’t answer any questions. You’re at the age when you don’t have a lot of baggage & I’d say to follow your heart. Go for it if this is what you want to do. Regrets are horrible when you get older… or so I’ve heard π
Haha I haven’t looked into career counselling but I actually am confident that I would love this job and if you love something you become the most successful that way. I definitely need to look more into it and of course at first it’ll be hard but I am all for doing something I love ! Hahaha thanks for the encouragement π
You seem to have the personality for it! π
Haha thanks π
No problem
Oh my goodness. Love. So true how we fill our sails with the wind of compliments. Real Estate opportunities are endless.
I’ve been reading more about it for the last few days. Really considering it. Thank you βΊοΈ
