The Must & Must nots: Teeth Whitening Edition

A must ✔️ according to me.

I usually hate teeth whitening products. They always hurt my teeth and make them super sensitive! I’ve tried whitening strips and whitening toothpaste in the past but I always feel like I have cavities everywhere haha I googled natural ways to whiten teeth and found a few options. I’ve done coconut oil in the past which was awesome but very time consuming so I took a different approach.

Baking soda and lemon juice paste. Yes folks, you read right hahaha I mean, baking soda isn’t a shock here. Baking soda and the lemon juice mixed acts like natural bleach. Some days I swapped lemon juice with water just to avoid over doing it.

What you will need:

  1. Several teaspoons of baking soda
  2. Enough lemon juice or water to form a paste
  3. A toothbrush

Directions as found on Google:

Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes.

It should look like this (photos found on Google)

Anyway, I took a picture from when I started (a few weeks ago) and one yesterday and I definitely see an improvement.

Ignore my pink lipstick, I was getting way too ahead of myself for spring season approaching hahaha

I don’t know it it’s noticeable in the photos but I can certainly see a difference when I look in the mirror! I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants that whiter smile and has the same troubles of teeth hurting with store bought products.

Do you have any remedies that you’d recommend when it comes to teeth whitening? I love trying new things!

xx

    • I’ve been doing it 3-4 times a week with lemon juice and the other days I’ve been using water. They even feel better haha ouuu that sounds interesting. I’ll try it next 🙂 going to give my teeth a little break then do that. Thanks!!!
