I totally agree, this describes some of my dearest friends and it reminds me how fortunate the world is to have them.

The other day I was lying in bed, having a bout with loneliness, and I eventually asked myself, “If I were never to meet someone for the remainder of my life, what would I actually lose?” Of course, the answer is nothing. I don’t lose anything being alone, so why should I be sad about it? Because society tells me that not having a partner = alone = sadness? From my interactions with people who do have a partner, I’m starting to think that me not having a partner = I can talk to anyone I choose without my partner getting jealous.
It is a great concept that I follow – independence within a relationship

The ultimate key: loving yourself first in order to truly love someone else. That way, no one else can affect your happiness because it comes from within – everything else is just a bonus!
